“Chaos Constelación” by the artist Jedd Novatt, is a 6-meter-tall sculpture in Cor-ten steel.
About the gift: An American patron of the arts, in collaboration with the town of Vals, has facilitated the acquisition of the sculpture for permanent installation, allowing the people of Vals and visitors from around the world to enjoy it.
About the artist: Born in 1958 in New York City, Jedd Novatt is an American artist renowned for his monumental sculptures, which address notions of space, balance and gravity, through interlocking asymmetrical and quadratic shapes. Sculptures from Novatt’s celebrated Chaos series are installed worldwide in prominent private and public collections such as La Piscine Musée d’Art et d’Industrie, Roubaix, France; Chatsworth House, Derbyshire, UK; The City of Bilbao, Spain; The City of Rolle, Switzerland; Pérez Art Museum Miami, FL; Middlebury College Museum of Art, Middlebury, VT; SCAD Museum of Art, Savannah, GA; and SCAD-Lacoste, in the French Luberon Valley. Jedd Novatt lives in Paris, and divides his time between his studios in Paris; Ménerbes, Provence; and the Basque region of Spain, where he created “Chaos Constelación.”
