Mountain Route Patnaulpass

The Patnaulpass rewards hikers with beautiful views down into Vals, as well as a wide panorama of the Grisons Alps and the central Alpine Ridge.

Closure of the Patnaul Hiking Trail (Vrin–Vals Connection)

The Patnaul hiking trail (connecting Vrin and Vals) will be closed from 29 June 2026 until approximately September 2026, as a sheep flock with livestock guardian dogs is present in the area. The section of the trail from Vals to Patnaul Pass remains open and accessible.

A beautiful view down into Vals and a wide panorama over the Grison Alps and the central Alpine ridge.

An impressive panorama (already at the height of Leisalp) unfolds, with views of the mountains stretching from the east to the southwest: Tomülhorn, Piz d’Anarosa, Hora, Guraletschhorn, Fanellhorn, Güferhorn, and more. Behind Leisalp, the striking walls of Piz Serenastga and Piz Aul rise dramatically into the sky.
