For those who want to reach high altitudes quickly, this beautiful loop trail from Vals via Gadastatt to Stafelti offers a great adventure with challenging climbs.

Start in Valé and take the path to Leis. From there the path climbs steeply to Gadastatt. Continue north, following the signs for Stafelti and Leisalp. After a short steep climb, the path crosses the long slope that runs from the village to the foot of the Breitagraat ridge. After another steep climb, you reach the alpine hamlet of Stafelti. The path then descends gently along the dirt road to the Hängelahütte and continues past An der Matta until a signpost leads you off the road onto a narrow path, past Volchtanna and into a dense forest. After a short stretch back on the road, the trail continues through the forest towards the village. On the road, turn right and head back towards the back of the village to reach Valé.
