At AMÖBE LAB, artists are given space for their processes and explorations. Together with people interested in the vitality of Vals, the lab fosters exchange and the exploration of practices — whether in art, craft, construction, or cultivation.

The artist Claudia Schmid from Vals presents both existing and new works at the Amöbe. In her exhibition, she weaves cultural threads between the alpine and the industrial, revealing diverse spatial and thematic connections to the idea of «light». Her work reflects on technological change—such as the disappearance of familiar high-voltage pylons from the landscape—while also turning inward to observe the smallest details: the flicker of light on a surface, the texture of a material, the shadows that shape our sense of space. Claudia invites us to see differently—to sense how perception itself shapes a place.
