Platz – Rufena – Valserhof – Böörtli – Rovanada
Short ascent from Valserhof to Böörtli and from there a leisurely sledge run in a long curve to Rovanada.
Rongg – Valserhof oder Polenhütte – Gross Cheer – Valé
It is well worth taking a sledge on this winter circuit of the Illagrass. It makes the hike more varied as you can cover a route with the sledge. You can either hike up via Mura – Valserhof – Rongg and then toboggan from the Polenhütte, mostly through the forest to Valé, or you can hike from Valé via the Polenhütte to Rongg and then sledge down from Rongg to Vals.
Zerfreila – Zerfreilastrasse – Valé
There is traffic on parts of this route. Always drive carefully and on the right-hand side of the road. Almost 7 kilometres of tobogganing fun through a wild and romantic gorge. Coming from Zerfreila, the middle section of the sledge run follows the old road. This branches off before the long tunnel and you glide down into the valley at varying speeds. Again, there are two short tunnels to pass through, which have been specially prepared for sledgers with a ‘snow carpet’. Further down, the road rejoins the main road. Again, be careful of oncoming traffic.
Zerfreila-Kapelle – Zervreila-Restaurant
An easy walk from Zerfreila Restaurant to Zerfreila Chapel. Then sledge down to the Zervreila Restaurant (car free).
Gadastatt – Leis – Zorts – Soladüra – Platz
The path from Gadastatt to Leis is also used as a winter hiking trail, so watch out for pedestrians. Follow the old road from Leis via Zorts to Vals. There is car traffic on parts of this route. The whole route is about 5 km long.
Bidem
In good snow conditions, you can go sledging at the playground behind the Bidem car park.
Sledge hire
Sledges can be hired from Menzli Sport & SteiHirt at the bottom station of the cable car and at the Zervreila restaurant in Zerfreila (good sledging conditions required).
