«Chaos Constelación» des Künstlers Jedd Novatt ist eine sechs Meter hohe Skulptur aus wetterfestem Cortenstahl.

Bei der Monumentalstatue für die Gemeinde Vals handelt es sich um eine Schenkung zwecks permanenter Installation auf Gadastatt, wo sie per sofort sowohl von Ihnen liebe Valserinnen und Valser, aber auch von Gästen aus aller Welt kostenlos und uneingeschränkt bestaunt werden kann.

Der 1958 in New York City geborene US-amerikanische Künstler Jedd Novatt ist bekannt für seine monumentalen Skulpturen, die sich mit den Begriffen Raum, Gleichgewicht und Schwerkraft befassen, indem sie asymmetrische und quadratische Formen ineinandergreifen lassen. Skulpturen aus Novatts gefeierter Chaos-Serie befinden sich weltweit in prominenten öffentlichen und privaten Sammlungen wie etwa dem La Piscine Musée d’Art et d’Industrie in Roubaix (Frankreich) dem Chatsworth House in Derbyshire (Vereinigtes Königreich); in der baskischen Stadt Bilbao (Spanien); der waadtländischen Stadt Rolle, dem Pérez Kunstmuseum Miami (USA), dem Kunstmuseum des Middlebury College in Middlebury, dem SCAD Kunstmuseum in Savannah (beide USA) und SCAD-Lacoste im französischen Luberon-Ta (Frankreich). Jedd Novatt lebt in Paris und reist für seine Arbeit in seinen Studios auch des Öfteren nach Ménerbes bei Avignon sowie nach Eibar (Spanien) wo er unter anderem auch «Chaos Constelación» erschaffen hat. About the gift: An American patron of the arts, with the help of the town of Vals, has enabled the acquisition of the sculpture for permanent installation for the enjoyment of the people of Vals and visitors from around the world.

About the artist: Born in 1958 in New York City, Jedd Novatt is an American artist renowned for his monumental sculptures, which address notions of space, balance and gravity, through interlocking asymmetrical and quadratic shapes. Sculptures from Novatt’s celebrated Chaos series are installed worldwide in prominent private and public collections such as La Piscine Musée d’Art et d’Industrie, Roubaix, France; Chatsworth House, Derbyshire, UK; The City of Bilbao, Spain; The City of Rolle, Switzerland; Pérez Art Museum Miami, FL; Middlebury College Museum of Art, Middlebury, VT; SCAD Museum of Art, Savannah, GA; and SCAD-Lacoste, in the French Luberon Valley.
